Biography

Mark Severy is a research engineer working within the Coastal Sciences Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His work focuses on the applications and environmental effects of offshore wind and marine renewable energy. Mark has a background in engineering and excels in interdisciplinary projects combining energy, environment, technology, and policy. Prior to joining the lab in 2020, he worked as a research engineer at the Schatz Energy Research Center at Humboldt State University, where he was the technical lead for an offshore wind feasibility assessment in northern California. Outside of the ocean environment, Mark has expertise across a range of other renewable energy technologies including, solar, wind, microgrids, and biomass energy.
