Biography

Mr. Tomich is a senior electronics/instrumentation engineer located at the Marine Sciences Laboratory in Sequim, Washington. He has over 35 years of engineering experience in electronics and instrumentation design, project engineering and management, and large program coordination. Over the course of his career, Mr. Tomich has gained experience in fielding designs and systems on land, airborne vehicles, research ships, and in riverine and undersea environments. He is adept at recognizing the needs of clients, developing solutions to meet those needs, fielding projects in a timely manner within budgets, and managing projects to fruition to accomplish the clients’ goals. Mr. Tomich has hands-on electronics design experience with low power microcontrollers, integrated digital control and signal processing components, and analog circuitry and devices for use in low power remote environments. He also uses mechanical CAD software to design and manufacture parts and assemblies that are ultimately used in the final instrument designs. He has a broad range of knowledge that he draws on for designing one-off prototypes of small devices for single use and in designing complex instrumentation for challenging environments.
